About BioBounty

BioBounty helps organizations collect new biodiversity evidence in defined places and time windows. Survey teams publish funded map bounties; local contributors capture wildlife observations; and the platform verifies provenance before records enter a project dataset.

We are not building another generic nature feed. Open communities such as iNaturalist and eBird provide invaluable taxonomy and historical context. Our focus is the work volunteer platforms are not designed to guarantee: paid, targeted, deadline-bound collection with a clear audit trail.

Fraud resistance is the product. On-device capture, metadata and sensor checks, species confidence scoring, duplicate detection, corroboration, and contributor reputation help teams distinguish a promising sighting from defensible evidence.
